Dr. Kit Charbonneau, DVM
Dr. Kit is a 1989 graduate of the VA-MD College of Veterinary
Medicine at Virginia Tech. He has been practicing in the Midlothian,
VA area since 1995. Hobbies include woodworking, scuba diving,
playing bridge and playing guitar. His second job is renovating an
80 year-old farmhouse for his wife and himself. We are happy to let
everyone know that he has been cancer free for over a year now. Kit
has also joined the horse crazy employees in owning a Spotted Draft
Walker Cross, named Little Bit. He and his wife now enjoy frequent
trail rides instead of doctor visits.
Dr. Cindy Lee Charbonneau, DVM
Also a graduate from the VA-MD Regional College of Veterinary
Medicine, Dr. Cindy Charbonneau decided to join her husband in the
family practice after working emergency medicine. Her professional
interests include surgery, both soft tissue and orthopedic as well
as internal medicine. Hobbies include playing the piano, spoiling
her child “Cookie” (a yellow Labrador) and riding her Percheron-
Quarter horse paint cross (2000 lb horse!) “Billy Bob”. She enjoys
taking Billy Bob on trail rides and cross-country jumping.
Katie Dooley
Katie adds charm and wit to the clinic. She has been working for Dr.
Charbonneau for 10…11….12 years (way too long to count) and has the
knowledge to prove it (and she’ll tell you so!). Katie does the
ordering, organizing and management of the front desk in addition to
assisting and reception. Hobbies include being a mom (of the best
behaved kids we’ve ever seen), collecting frogs, camping and
shopping for bargains.
Susan Bright
Susan is a go-getter and fast learner. She is a long time client who
got drafted to work with us. A real team player and
multitalented-assistant, receptionist and surgical assistant -- she
keeps us looking great and organized. Her husband Kevin is an I.T.
Consultant and maintains this website (thanks!) (see
http://www.innovaserv.com). Hobbies include arts and
crafts, interior decorating and managing her own home zoo (1 dog, 3
cats and fish). Susan has been in intensive dressage training with
her horse Mojo and has started show competitions this year.
Lori Hennessey
Lori has been with us for almost eight years now. Her
veterinary knowledge combined with her ability to multitask is a
great asset to the clinic. Prior to joining us, Lori had
worked at a referral veterinary practice in Virginia Beach, bringing
with her many and varied technical assisting experience from
orthopedics to laboratory skills to advanced dental techniques.
She does it all and we appreciate that she keeps a broad smile
through it all. She loves anything to doe with the ocean and
has a Chesapeake Bay Retriever that joins in the fun.
Nikki Morris
Nikki has been with us for over three years and is now in
her second year at school for a Veterinary Technology Degree at Blue
Ridge Community College. Her heart for the profession shines
through everything she does. Hobbies include hiking, playing
with her German Sheppard, Axel, and bon fires in the fall.
Nicole Rogers
Nicole is currently studying to be a Veterinary Technician
at Blue Ridge Community College. She's a gem -- an
enthusiastic and quick learner who shows initiative and gets things
done! Nicole is a workaholic (makes for a good employee) and
gives a broad smile to every client coming in the door. Her
hobbies include horseback riding, cross-country and show jumping.
She also enjoys hunting and can pick off a skeet at 60 yards with
her Charles Daly semiautomatic shotgun! (She's also our clinic
security!!!)
Carolyn Roberts
Carolyn keeps our accounts in order and makes sure the bills get
paid. (She keeps us in business)! She is a NASCAR fan and also
enjoys shopping, and fishing. Did we mention that in her spare time
that she is the proud mom and two beautiful twin daughters born this
past year. (She had to give up the shark diving for changing
diapers.)
Steve McKnight L.V.T.
Steve has been working as a licensed veterinary technician for
almost two decades and has gained a great balance between book
knowledge and the practical aspects of veterinary medicine. His
professional interests focus on anesthesia and pain management. Ask
him what his hobbies are and he’ll reply “with what time?”
J He runs a critical
care clinic at home with all the rescued animals to which he and
Beverly have opened their hearts. He adds a good belly laugh with
his quick jokes and anecdotes to fit any situation.
Kendall Moore
Currently completing her veterinary assistant course and having
previously worked as an assistant at the local zoo, Kendall comes to
us with a thorough knowledge base and training in the field. She
hopes to follow Nikki and Nicole in their pursuit of veterinary
technology to become a licensed technician (another common theme at
our clinic). Always quick to smile and ever efficient, we are glad
to have her join our team.
Michelle Dodd
Michelle recently moved back from Arizona, where she had worked
at the Prescott Humane Society in behavioral training and
adoptions. She is a fast learner, adding much compassion and
knowledge to our clinic. In addition to enjoying camping and fishing
as hobbies, Michelle has gotten a taste of the love and frustration
involved in renovating an old house. It’s worth it, right? She also
loves to cook and enjoys catering events on her days off.
Andrew Moyer
Currently finishing his second year as a pre-vet biology major at
Virginia Commonwealth University, Andrew works with us part time on
the weekends. Planning to pursue veterinary medicine as a career, he
is currently the president of the VCU pre-vet club. Hobbies include
playing the drums and – for now- studying.
Jessica Jimerson
This gal adds pizzazz to our clinic. Her compassion for animals is
her greatest feature. She’s a hard worker and comes to us having
previously volunteered at the Richmond Animal League. Quite the
athlete, her hobbies include soccer, volley ball and running (just
because!).
Becky Mathews
Becky is a veteran in the veterinary field in emergency and
critical care medicine and joins us part time while still
maintaining a full-time position at the VRCC. Her kind and
comforting demeanor puts anyone at ease. We welcome her to our
clinic family.
